Oak tree crashes into Tampa family's home during heavy rains, house uninhabitable

TAMPA - A Tampa family of six is safe after a large Oak tree fell on their home following a rain shower Monday night.

Tampa Fire Rescue responded a report of a fallen tree at 6:13 p.m.

They discovered a large Oak tree had fallen from a neighbor's yard into the front portion a home located at 2111 East Bougainvillea Avenue.

The tree was rotted and fell during the rain.

The homeowner, 58-year-old Princilien Lajeunesse, was home along with his family during the incident. Fortunately no one was injured.

However, the home sustained significant damage and Tampa Fire Rescue crews determined the home was uninhabitable.

American Red Cross is assisting the family in finding temporary housing.
