TAMPA - The South Tampa socialite who sparked the investigation that led to the end of Gen. David Petraeus' CIA career has been stripped of her consul title, the Florida Department of Motor Vehicles confirms.
The DMV was notified by the U.S. Department of State that Kelley can no longer use her honorary consul license plate because her title as an honorary consul for South Korea has been rescinded.
A DMV spokesperson says the department may send Kelley official notice within the next few days.
Kelley made headlines after telling the FBI about threatening emails from Paul Broadwell.
It was determined that Broadwell, who was writing a biography about Petraeus, had been having an affair with the general.
