Hunt underway for South Tampa bank robber

TAMPA - A man wearing a dust mask and sunglasses held up a South Tampa bank at knife point Friday afternoon.

The robbery occurred shortly after 2 p.m. at the Pilot Bank at 3415 Bay to Bay Boulevard.

After entering the bank, the robber pulled out a utility knife and told the teller he would hurt him if he didn't hand over cash.

Out of fear, the victim complied, police said.

The suspect fled on foot across Bay to Bay.

He's described as a white male wearing a black shirt and plaid pants. He has a noticeable tattoo of a "cross" on the back of his left hand.
