A fugitive on the run since 2000 has been arrested in the Dominican Republic and extradited to Tampa to face charges for failing to appear in an investigation conducted by the Tampa Police Department.

Jose Antonio Gonzalez, 76, has been charged with failure to appear for two counts of lewd and lascivious molestation and failure to appear for one count of lewd and lascivious exhibition.

Gonzalez was arrested as part of the cold-case fugitive initiative by the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office Warrant Section, the U.S. Marshal's Fugitive Task Force and the Dominican Republic National Police. The agencies worked together to locate and arrest Gonzalez in the Dominican Republic.
