Exotics to electric cars - Head down to the 2012 International Auto Show in Tampa

You can test drive cars too

TAMPA - If you are in the market for a new car or just like looking at exotic or the latest model cars, then head on down to the Tampa Convention Center this weekend for the 2012 Tampa Bay International Auto Show.

Hundreds of are on display and you can sit behind the wheel of 16 brand new model cars from Kia, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, FIAT and more.  You can even get a look at some model cars that are still in pre-production.

Some of the cars that are likely to get you to take a second look include the Chevrolet Sonic, FIAT 500, Ford Fiesta, Hyundai Veloster and the new Volkswagen Beetle.

Everyone these days is talking about fuel efficient cars and there are dozens of vehicles with 40+ MPG highway to see including the all electric  Chevrolet Volt and Nissan LEAF

If you have more expensive taste then you like looking at the exotic models from the Ferrari California and some hot rides from Lamborghini.

You can do more than just kick the tires, you can even test drive cars from Kia,  Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram and FIAT

Returning to the auto show, the Custom Hot Rod and Muscle Car Display will showcase a special collection of rare, one-of-a kind hot rods and muscle cars, courtesy of Ronnie Setser's Customs

Sunday is Kids Day and all children 12 and under are admitted FREE when accompanied by a paying adult.  Spider-Man and Captain America will also make appearances throughout the weekend.

The auto show is through Sunday at the Tampa Convention Center, located at 333 South Franklin Street. Show hours are Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Admission is $9 for adults, $5 for military (active, veterans or with D.O.D. ID), senior citizens (62 and older) and children 7-12. Children 6 and under are admitted free when accompanied by an adult. Members of the military (with ID) can get in for just $5.
