TAMPA - Tampa Fire Rescue says an unoccupied house in the 1300 block of East 29th Avenue suffered heavy damage early Monday morning.
Firefighters arrived on scene around 12:35 a.m. to find the home surrounded by smoke with flames coming from its roof. Officials say crews were limited on how they could fight the blaze because fire conditions deteriorated and a portion of the roof collapsed.
It took more than 30 firefighters from four stations about 45 minutes to bring the blaze under control.
After investigating, the Tampa Fire Marshal determine the cause of the fire was an electrical malfunction in the attic of the home and has been ruled accidental.
