Dog killed in Dartmouth Avenue house fire in Tampa

TAMPA - A dog died in a late Thursday night house fire in Tampa.

Just before midnight Tampa Fire Rescue crews responded to a fire at a home in the 3600 block of North Dartmouth Avenue in Tampa.
When firefighters arrived, they found the back of the single story house engulfed in flames and smoke.

Crews quickly searched the home for potential victims and only found a dog. Unfortunately, the dog did not survive.

It took firefighters about twenty minutes to bring the blaze under control.

The damage to the home is significant. Tampa Fire Marshal investigators are looking into the cause of the fire.
