Disney announces new attractions and resorts and a new cruise ship

Major, we mean MAJOR, news coming out of Disney.

During the D23 Expo in Anaheim, Walt Disney Parks Chairman Bob Chapek announced a slew of exciting new projects planned for Disney.

Some of the highlights include:

Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is the official name of the Star Wars Lands at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort. Details of the two new signature attractions planned for these lands will open in 2019

A Star Wars-themed experimental resort is also coming to Walt Disney World

Hollywood Studios is getting a new attraction: Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway.  Guests will step through the movie screen and join Mickey inside a cartoon short where guests are the stars.

Epcot is getting two new attractions:

A “Guardians of the Galaxy”-inspired attraction will be built in Future World, and a “Ratatouille”-inspired attraction is planned for the France pavilion in World Showcase. Opening date is planned for 2021

Tron, which is the most popular attraction at Shanghai Disneyland, is come to Disney World.  It will be next to Space Mountain in Tomorrowland. Opening date is planned for 2021

There will be a new way to get around Disney World with a new transportation system called, Disney Skyliner. It will give guests a birds-eye view of the resort.

Toy Story Land which is currently under construction at Hollywood Studios and will open in the summer of 2018.

Disney Cruise Line is expanding their fleet with another ship. This means their fleet will nearly double by 2023.
