Deputies believe man robbed 7 fast food restaurants in the Bay Area

Armed robber described as dangerous

TAMPA BAY - It lasted less than a minute, but weeks later, Ron Schmiedebush still could not shake the memory of what happened in the early morning hours of September 22.

"So many millions of thoughts that just go through your head. It is just hard to process it all," he told ABC Action News.

That is the day an armed robber broke a Papa John's front window with a brick located on Gunn Highway in Tampa. He demanded money from employees.

"He seemed calm, like he had done it before," said Scmiedebush.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's office believes the suspect is the same man wanted for robbing seven fast food restaurants in the area.

"Laro, Tampa, Hernando and now Hillsborough county. We are looking to see if there is any other cases around the area that are tied into the suspect," said Cristal Bermudez Nunez with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said they caught the man on surveillance tape robbing a Wendy's off Bruce B Downs Blvd in Tampa. He is the same man believed to have hit Burger King on Hillsborough Ave and other restaurants from Clearwater to Lutz.

"It happened so fast we didn't even get time to hit the panic button," said Scmiedebush.

Deputies say the suspect is 5'5" to 5'11" between the ages of 22 and 35. Weighing 150 to 180 pounds. Deputies said he could be dangerous.

"The suspect is armed and we need the community to know to definitely be careful," said Nunez.
