Fire crews battled a two-alarm fire early Tuesday morning at two businesses in Seminole Heights.
Those crews responded to the fire at 6421 N. Florida Avenue just before 2:00 a.m. to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the rear of the building. The building houses Domani Bistro Lounge and A Modern Line, a retail furniture store.
Jason Penny with Tampa Fire Rescue said around 60 firefighters responded to the scene and crews battled flames from two aerial ladder trucks and several hose lines for upwards of two hours before gaining gaining control.
In addition, much of the roof began collapsing, so firefighters had difficulty reaching several areas in the building.
Both businesses sustained significant fire, smoke, and water damage. There were no reported injuries to civilians or firefighters.
Tampa Fire Marshal investigators will be on scene for several hours working to determine the cause of the fire.
Florida Avenue is closed from E. Lambright St. to E. Hanna.
