CLEARWATER - A caretaker and her male patient escaped from a fire at a two-story Clearwater home overnight.
The blaze began around 11:30 p.m. at 1051 Nokomis Street in Clearwater.
Officials say the man noticed the fire and alerted his caretaker.
She got both of them out of the home safely. The home was fully engulfed in flames when Clearwater Fire Rescue crew members arrived.
They were able to control the fire quickly, but not before it caused major damage.
The Red Cross has been called to assist. No one was injured. The fire is under investigation.
