Tropical Storm Bertha grew into a Category 1 hurricane Monday morning.
The good news, the storm poses no immediate threat to land.
At 11 a.m., Bertha had maximum sustained winds of 80 mph and was moving north at 17 mph.
On the forecast track, the storm will continue to move away from the Bahamas and pass about midway between the US east coast and Bermuda on Tuesday.
A weakening trend is expected to begin late Tuesday.
Elsewhere, the tropics are quiet.
