Below is a list of cold weather shelters for Hillsborough, Pinellas and other parts of the Tampa Bay area:
Hillsborough County cold weather shelters will open tonight, Jan. 6 for the homeless and those who live in homes without adequate heat. The National Weather Service expects the local wind chill factor to be in the 20s beginning Monday evening as well as Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.
Hillsborough County coordinates with the following organizations to provide cold weather shelters:
Brandon Community Center, 510 E. Sadie St. in Brandon
This shelter opens at 6 p.m. and is for homeless individuals and families with children in the Brandon Area.
Metropolitan Ministries, 2010 N. Florida Ave. in Tampa
This shelter opens at 4 p.m. and is for families.

This shelter opens at 4 p.m. and is only for adults.

This shelter opens at 6 p.m. and is for adults and families.
Monday and Tuesday Nights, January 6 & 7 2014
The shelters open at approximately 6 p.m., accept guests all night long, and close the following morning at approximately 6 a.m. Shelter guests are provided a hot evening meal, a warm safe place to spend the night, and breakfast the following morning. Pasco County Transportation provides service to cold weather shelters via routes 14, 21, 30 free of charge. Riders should tell the driver when boarding they are enroute to a cold weather shelter. To utilize the service, call 727-548-5733.
