A body recovered from a pond Tuesday has been identified as an 82-year-old man who walked away from a Tampa assisted-living facility last week.
A dive team found the body of Maynell Benton Scott in the pond near Lake George Lane and North Armenia Avenue in Tampa, according to Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
Scott left Belvedere Commons Assisted Living Facility on Friday on foot, deputies said. The area where his body was found is less than a mile away.
Deputies said he had dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease.
