Four adults and one minor were arrested and are facing multiple charges after they reportedly stole guns, money and other items from cars in the Tampa Bay area.
On Tuesday, July 19, just before 5 a.m., deputies with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office spotted a black Kia Sportage at the intersection of Causeway Boulevard and Providence Lakes Boulevard. The SUV was on the deputies radar for possibly being involved in car break-ins throughout District IV. Deputies follows the SUV until K-9 and aviation units were available. They then pulled over the vehicle at the intersection of 50th Street South and Adamo Drive.
Four adults and one minor were arrested during the traffic stop. Emonte Bentley, 19, Antonio Robinson, 19, Bernard Parker, 18, Christopher Brown, 18, and a 15-year old minor were taken into custody by deputies. During the traffic stop, deputies recovered several stolen items including two handguns, a shotgun, and cash.
As a result of the arrests, Detectives identified seven more car break-ins that the five suspects were involved in.
