ST. PETERSBURG - Three St. Petersburg Police officers were disciplined Thursday following an investigation into a police chase.
The investigation stemmed from a citizen alleging that a police pursuit that occurred on July 12 was unauthorized.
Assistant Chief Luke Williams' Board determined there were no violations of the Department's pursuit policy, but they did determine that the officers had violated Departmental General Orders and City Rules and Regulations related to conduct "unbecoming an employee, and/or efficiency in the performance of their duties".
The St. Petersburg Police Officers who were disciplined included Officer Robert Leoce, Officer Michael W. Carter and Officer David Kines.
Leoce, 38, was issued a two day suspension without pay. Carter, 41, also received a two day suspension without pay. Kines, 38, received a three day suspension without pay.
A fourth officer, 31-year-old Eric Galloway, resigned during the course of the investigation on August 2. Had he not resigned, he would have received a five day suspension.
