Resident stabs another with a pair of scissors at a Boley Center safe haven home in St. Petersburg

A verbal argument at a safe have home turned violent Thursday night when one resident stabbed another with a pair of scissors, according to police.
Officers with the St Petersburg Police Department said Rafael Sanchez and Stephen Swiontek were arguing in the common kitchen area of the home at 555 31st St S.
Sanchez, 60, left the room and returned with a pair of scissors and stabbed Swiontek, 46, in the neck several times, severing a major artery.
Sanchez left the home, but was caught within a few blocks of the scene.
Swiontek was taken to Bayfront Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
