Police: Carjacking suspects attempt to shop with victim's credit cards, caught on surveillance

ST. PETERSBURG - St. Petersburg Police are searching for four suspects accused of stealing a woman's vehicle and committing fraud with her credit cards last week Monday.

Officials are hoping images of two of the suspects trying to use the victim's credit card at Wal-Mart will help their investigation.

The victim left Regions Bank and was parking her Honda SUV on the side of the road at 11 th Ave. N. and 37 th Street N. on July 22.

She noticed a four door model turquoise car driving up and down the street.

She got out of the car to let her dog urinate just before 8 p.m., and the turquoise vehicle stopped directly across the street from her.

She said two black male suspects jumped out of the turquoise car, rushed over to her, and knocked her to the ground.

They took her keys out of her hand and sped off in her SUV.

The victim's vehicle was found by back up police but it evaded officers.

A short time later, the vehicle was found and returned to the victim, but all of the suspects got away.

The victim's purse was taken by the suspects. The purse contained the victim's wallet, which included a credit card that two female suspects attempted to use at a Wal-Mart store in Pinellas Park and at a CITGO gas station that same night.

The women were captured on surveillance video at the Wal-Mart.

Officials are asking for the public's assistance in identifying the female credit card fraud suspects.
