Man killed in crash on Central Avenue on Monday night

A driver was killed Monday night, when he ran another car off the road and crashed his SUV into a tree.
It began around 9:40, when the man was driving a 2014 silver Nissan Pathfinder eastbound on Central Avenue toward 65th St. S.  At a high rate of speed, according to St. Petersburg Police, he hit the back end of a 1991 red Jeep Wrangler heading the same way.
The Wrangler, driven by Ronald Naccarato, 46, was pushed off the north curb line where it struck a tree and flipped onto its roof.
The Pathfinder continued eastbound for several blocks before hitting tree on the north side of Central.
The driver of the Pathfinder was taken to St. Petersburg General Hospital, and was pronounced dead.
Naccarato was taken to Bayfront Medical Center for treatment.  There is no word on his status.
St. Petersburg Police will wait for an autopsy from the Medical Examiner to determine if the driver of the Pathfinder died due to injuries from the crash or if he suffered from a medical episode. They are also waiting for toxicological testing, to see if alcohol is a factor.
