Lorraine Yaslowicz is the 2013 Inspire Woman of the Year for Police Appreciation Run

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -

Lorraine Yaslowitz is the 2013 Inspire Woman of the Year. It's the 14th year the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce has handed out the award at their annual Iconic Women Luncheon. Our own Lissette Campos was on hand to announce the award.

Yaslowitz was nominated for her efforts as founder of the Police Appreciation Run and Partners for Life foundation. She started that foundation after her husband, St. Petersburg K-9 police officer Jeff Yaslowtiz was killed in the line of duty.

"It feels great. It's a huge shock and it's a huge honor," Yaslowitz said. "Again, it's just another blessing that God and Jeff keep bestowing on our lives."

The 3rd Annual Police Appreciation Run/Walk is this Sunday, May 5. It starts at 7 a.m. at Demens Landing in downtown St. Petersburg. For more information, click here:  http://www.floridaroadraces.com/police.html
