KIDS IN HOT CARS: St. Petersburg Police say 189 children left in hot cars over past year

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - From St. Petersburg Police:

Statistics showed 183 emergency responses for children locked in vehicles in Pinellas County during the past year. A total of 189 children were involved in those calls. 

The City of St. Petersburg led the county with 32% of those calls.

St. Petersburg Fire & Rescue and the Suncoast Safe Kids Coalition led by All Children's Hospital will hold a press conference Monday to share specific details about these new statistics and stress the importance of never leaving children unattended in vehicles.
