Boil water alert for St. Pete Beach, Treasure Island lifted

ST. PETE BEACH, Fla. - A precautionary boil water order that was issued for St. Pete Beach and Treasure Island has been lifted.

The order was issued following an inadvertent drop in water pressure during an upgrade at a nearby pumping station and affected the area between 116th Avenue and 45th Avenue, including the Isle of Capri neighborhood.

Nearly normal pressure was restored shortly after, but Pinellas County Utilities issued the order as a precaution and tested water samples. The water samples confirmed there was no contamination.

Normal water use can resume, but residents are advised to run cold water through all plumbing fixtures until the water runs clear.
