Alabama woman dies after being pulled from riptide currents

PASS-A-GRILLE, Fla. - A woman who was pulled out of rip currents off of Pass-A-Grille passed away Thursday morning.

Mary Rudolph and her family were in town from Alabama, swimming the choppy waters of Pass-A-Grille when they found themselves in trouble on Wednesday.  Rudolph, her husband, her two sons, a sister and a niece were all being pulled by rip currents.

Three other visitors on the beach jumped into action, and pulled five people between the ages of 14 and 44 from the raging surf (see ).

They were taken to the hospital, and Mary said her sister, Kimberly, passed away Thursday.
