SEMINOLE, Fla. - A student from Seminole Middle School was struck and injured by a vehicle late Thursday afternoon, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
It happened around 4:30 p.m. on 131st St. N. in front of Seminole High School.
According to investigators, the 12-year-old girl tried to cross the road at a marked pedestrian crosswalk when she was hit by a Honda SUV and pinned underneath the vehicle.
She was transported by helicopter to a hospital in critical condition. The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating.
