SEMINOLE, Fla. - A 35-year-old Seminole man has been charged with Capital Sexual Battery after molesting a child under the age of 12 seven years ago, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.
Earlier this month, detectives began conducting an investigation into allegations that Calvin Dowd had sexual contact with a minor under the age of twelve. The alleged events took place in December of 2006.
Dowd is accused of having approached the victim as she slept.
He then allegedly inappropriately touched and fondled her.
Detectives interviewed both Dowd and the victim many times.
At the end of the investigation, it was determined Dowd had non-consensual sexual contact with the victim at his Seminole home on 75 th Avenue North.
Dowd admitted to the allegations.
Dowd has been charged with Capital Sexual Battery on a Child less than 12 years old and is currently being held at the Pinellas County Jail with no bond.
