Pinellas Park Police are searching for the owner of a dog that was reportedly thrown out of a car at an intersection in Pinellas Park on Monday.

A witness tells police they saw the small dog get thrown out of the driver side of a small black car and drive off.

The incident happened at the intersection of 43rd Street and 76th Avenue.

The witness picked up the little brown dog and brought the dog to the police department on Monday.

One of the Pinellas Park dispatchers stepped up and offered to adopt the dog. The proper paperwork was completed with Animal Services for the dispatcher to take care of the dog until the owner was located to find out what happened to the dog.

The dog will get to stay with the dispatcher if the owner cannot be located but Pinellas county Animal Services wants to speak with the person who reportedly threw the dog from the car so that they can get more information about the dog's treatment.
