Black Widow's ex-boyfriend says he's not surprised by her latest arrest

Melissa Weeks accused of poisoning her husband

PINELLAS PARK, Fla. - A woman dubbed the Black Widow may have struck again.  Melissa Weeks, who admitted to stealing thousands of dollars from a Tampa Bay area man, is now accused of trying to murder her latest husband.

Canadian authorities say she tried to poison him. He reportedly got sick on their honeymoon.

Alex Strategos says the arrest of his ex-girlfriend comes as no surprise. Strategos claims Weeks poisoned him too.

He says the two met online in 2005, and she eventually moved into his Pinellas Park home.  Within days, he said, she started to fix him ice cream laced with poison.  "I would go to sleep and then if I had to get up for something to go to the bathroom, that's when I would get up and then fall over."

Strategos went to the hospital around eight times. He says a rehab center later found traces of a tranquilizer.

Police tell us they couldn't prove Weeks drugged Strategos, but they did arrest her for taking around $20,000 from him. She spent four years in prison for the crime, which Strategos says he never suspected. Strategos said, "I thought it was just one of those things. I was getting too old to do anything."

Weeks has a checkered past when it comes to men. In 1991, she ran over husband Gordon Stewart with a car, twice and spent two years in prison for manslaughter. Then she moved to Florida and married Robert Friedrich, who died of a heart attack in 2002.

Weeks is in a jail cell again, and has a bail hearing scheduled for next week. In the meantime, Canadian prosecutors are opposing her release because they fear she's a flight risk.
