Benefit motorcycle ride for Becky Tower, who needs a kidney transplant, tomorrow in Pinellas Park

Here's an opportunity to take action for a woman who needs a kidney transplant. Becky Tower, mother and grandmother, has lived with diabetes for 21 years, but she's reached the point where her kidneys are failing and she needs a kidney transplant.
Tower's son is a homicide detective at the St. Pete Police Department. Rodney Tower said the family has rallied around her. His brother Tim is a perfect match and has agreed to donate a kidney. But doctors can't moved ahead with the proceedure until the family raises at least $5,000 to pay for drugs and follow-up care. They're hoping a benefit motorcycle ride on Saturday will help kickstart that process.
"It's overwhelming to see my kids work like this; to see total strangers say, 'I'll be there'," Becky said.
Becky says the transplant will transform her life. Tomorrow's event is the first of several planned fundraisers.
Registration starts at 9 a.m. tomorrow at the Quaker Steak & Lube in Pinellas Park. It costs $20 per bike. The ride begins at 11 a.m.
