PINELLAS PARK, Fla. - A wanted Tampa man charged with attempted first degree murder in Pinellas Park Tuesday was found in New York Wednesday, Pinellas Park Police confirm.
Police responded to multiple shootings at the Runaway Bay Apartments on 88 th Avenue N around 4:15 Tuesday morning.
Officials say 26-year-old Daniel Damien Arocho Soto fired multiple shots at a man standing in front of an apartment where his ex-girlfriend lives.
Another man and woman were in, or near, the apartment during the shooting, but no one was hurt, and the suspect fled.
Based on their investigation, officers determined that the shooting may have stemmed from a recent breakup between Soto and his ex-girlfriend, who lived in unit 1103 of Runaway Bay Apartments, the same location Soto was shooting toward.
Police obtained an Attempted First Degree Murder warrant for Soto. Detectives learned that he may have fled to Yonkers, New York, where he has relatives.
The next day, April 3, Yonkers law enforcement found Soto at his relative's home. He was arrested and he is being held by officials until he gets transported back to Florida.
