Wholesome Community Church Pastor Carlos Irizarry said his prayers have been answered this month after finding out his church was approved for a loan to the buy the property they currently rent.

"The owner came to us and said they were going to sell to a housing developer, but we could try to buy the property first," said Irizarry.

The church formed a task force, raised money, and prayed. This month they found out they were able to purchase the property.

"We were about to shut our doors," said Irizarry.

The Wholesome Community Church provides outreach services to the Wimauma community.

"We do a health fair and provide school supplies to children when they go back to school," said Irizarry.

They created a GoFundMe account to help with the real estate costs.

Irizarry said he was worried about the void that would be created if his church was forced to move.

"The end result of of this is we are going to be able to expand all the programs that we've been putting together," said Irizarry.
