Arrest made in Progress Village shooting death

Hillsborough County deputies have arrested a 34-year-old man in a shooting death Friday morning in Progress Village.

Investigators say Kenyatta Bethley  shot his mother's 49-year-old boyfriend Friday morning at a home on Newdale Way.

The victim, Nathaniel Brewer, 49, had gone to the Progress Village home shortly after 7 a.m. to pay a visit, according to a sheriff's statement.
Once inside the apartment, an argument ensued.  Brewer and Bethley wound up in the parking lot where the argument turned physical, deputies said.
Brewer was shot multiple times in the head and chest.
Bethley, deputies said, fled the scene on a bicycle.
Deputies located Bethley around 2:30 p.m. at a friend's home in Brandon. He was arrested without incident.
He's now charged with second-degree murder.
