Sarasota school psychologist charged with molestation

A Venice man was arrested Wednesday for molesting a girl who once lived in a therapeutic foster home that he ran with his then-wife, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office.
 
Harvey Dorey, 44, is employed by the Sarasota School Board as a school psychologist. He was taken into custody at North Port High School.
 
According to a sheriff's statement, the girl, who was 14 when the crimes began, told a case worker that Dorey was a "pedophile." When asked what she meant, the girl told the case worker that Dorey had molested her on multiple occasions over a period of about a year.
 
Dorey is charged with Lewd or Lascivious Molestation and Lewd or Lascivious Conduct.  He is being held on $100,000 bond.
