A teenage girl kicked a man in the groin after he grabbed her, jumped on top of her and kicked and hit her. She yelled and the man went running, according to deputies with Sarasota County.
The victim said she was outside at 11:20 p.m. walking near the intersection of Capilla Ln. and San Lorenzo Ave. While looking down at her cell phone, an unidentified man came from an unknown direction and grabbed her arm, pulling her to the ground.
The man kicked her in the right thigh and jumped on top of her, attempting to cover her mouth. He struck her with his hand on the right side of her face.
That's when the victim was able to kick the man in the groin area and yell.
He immediately got up off of the victim and ran southbound through an empty lot towards Ortiz Blvd, while the victim ran to a resident in the 300 block of San Lorenzo Ave.
The suspect is described as a black man approximately 6'03" to 6'05" in height, with a medium build. The man is in his late 20's to mid 30's, and sports a shaved head.
The victim said he was wearing Khaki shorts with a black shirt and black high-top sneakers. He appeared to be somewhat dirty, but had a strong odor of cologne.
An FDLE website check of the immediate area (1 mile circumference area) for sexual offenders yielded no subject that matched the victim's description (all male subjects were white).
