Police describe double shooting suspect Joseph T. Lamar as 'armed and dangerous'

SARASOTA, Fla. - Sarasota Police are looking for Joseph T. Lamar following a double shooting Tuesday night.  They say he is a convicted murder and detectives consider him armed and dangerous.

The shootings occurred shortly after 10:15 p.m. in the 3200 block of Lemon Avenue.

One victim was flown to the Blake Medical Center while the other victim was taken by ambulance to Sarasota Memorial Hospital.

Lamar, 48, was released from prison in 2012 and is now being sought on charges of attempted murder and aggravated battery.
