SARASOTA, Fla. - A tornado warning has expired for Manatee and Sarasota Counties. It was the second one issued on Friday.
Earlier, a waterspout was reported off Longboat Key Friday afternoon.
It was moving northeast at around 20 m.p.h. The report came in around 1:45.
As a result, a Tornado Warning was issued for Sarasota and Manatee counties. It expired at 2 p.m.
Affected communities included: The City of Sarasota, Bradenton and Palmetto.
The waterspout was seen by both a trained spotter and the observer at the Sarasota-Bradenton Airport, according to the National Weather Service.
Waterspouts typically dissipate quickly once onshore.
