Some terrifying moments for a Sarasota family Monday when their two-year-old child fell out of a second story window at their home.
"Our two-year-old son just fell out of the second story window. He's conscious, he's breathing," the child's father told a 911 operator.
Shortly before 7:30 a.m., the frantic father called for help.
Operator: "Can you tell what part of the body was injured?"
Dad: "If anything, maybe his back."
The child fell from the window at a home on Olive Avenue in Sarasota.
"He just pushed the screen. I didn't know that it could open," the father told the 911 operator.
The toddler went through the screen and plummeted to the ground below.
Dad: "Oh my God."
Operator: "It's ok. You called in and that's the first thing you can do to get help. That's perfect."
Dad: "Is he going to be ok?"
Operator: "They'll determine that when they get there, ok."
The 911 operator tried to calm the father as he waited for paramedics to arrive.
Operator: "It's ok. You did the best thing you could."
The child was flown to All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg.
The 9-1-1 call reveals the child was not bleeding and was alert after the fall.
We tried talking to family members, but they were unavailable.
