A night of legal gator hunting ended in a surprising photo op with Sarasota deputies and the owner of the boat has shared the photo on social media.
Sarasota Sheriff's Office says Sgt. James Darby and Deputy Shaun Martin were shocked to find a dead gator, with its mouth wrapped in Superman tape, in the back of a boat being towed by a VW.
The deputies pulled over the car towing the boat because of broken trailer signal lights and the owner explained the story and commended the deputies for how they displayed an "unparalleled level of professionalism" during the incident.
