"Doc" the dog and HCSO unofficial mascot is missing

SARASOTA, Fla. - "Doc," the unofficial mascot for Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office Agriculture unit remains missing.

The mixed breed cattle dog is the personal dog of detective Lowell Cain, but was used to assist with work needs on different occasions.

Doc would help heard lose cattle off roadways, or round them up to get them where they needed to be.

Around 11:30 a.m. Saturday morning, Doc escaped from his special crate located on northbound I-75 near the Fruitville exit in Sarasota County.

The dog weighs about 60 pounds and is very friendly, deputies say.

A reward of $500 is being offered for Doc's return.

Anyone with any information on Doc's whereabouts is asked to call Sergeant Ron Cain at 813-318-5681.
