Suspect faces attempted murder charges after shooting at two men, injuring one

BRADENTON, Fla. - A 28-year-old man faces two attempted murder charges after he shot one man and tried to shoot another at a Bradenton hotel Sunday night, deputies say.

Deputies responded to a shooting at the Siesta Inn, located at 2303 1 st St E., and found 24-year-old Michael Ploetz suffering from a gunshot wound in a hotel room.

Authorities learned that the victim was shot by Daniel Spann after an argument.

The suspect also shot at 22-year-old Keith McCarty, but the victim was not injured.

Ploetz was taken to Blake Hospital for treatment of the gunshot wound, his condition is currently unknown.

Spann was arrested at the scene and has been charged with two counts of Attempted Murder.
