A group of protestors gathered outside the Manatee County Commission offices on Monday to hand deliver a petition. The group received 250-thousand signatures through change.org.

The group is calling for the arrests of the men seen in the viral shark dragging incident from July. ABC Action News has identified the captain of the boat as Michael Wenzel.

“Disgust was the first thing I felt, and petty for the animal and the people in the video,” said protestor Daniel Dodsworth.

The petition was hand delivered to the State Attorney’s office on Monday. Protestors said they hope officials realize that they are still watching the investigation.

“Without pressure nothing can be done, so we are here to put pressure on FWC and the state attorney,” said protestor Lakota Moonfire.

Protestors said they decided to turn in the petition during the eclipse to show symbolism.

"We stand for the animals during the solar eclipse and we want them to know that the sun will come back again," said Moonfire.

FWC representatives said the investigation into the shark dragging incident is ongoing.
