EAST BRADENTON, Fla. - A teen boy working on a truck in Manatee County has been seriously injured after a tool holding the truck up collapsed and the vehicle fell on him.
According to Manatee County Fire-Rescue, the teen sustained "traumatic injuries" and was airlifted to a local hospital.
Neighbors said the boy was working on a red truck that was lifted on a jack, when the jack collapsed onto his legs. A witness says the boys legs were crossed as he worked on the truck.
Emergency crews responded and were able to lift the truck off the boy.
The incident occurred around 2:50 p.m. at 1100 block of Hagle Park Road in east Bradenton, off Upper Manatee River Road.
The victim has not been identified. Neighbors said the family went to the hospital after the incident.
