BRADENTON - Manatee County detectives are looking for information about what appears to be a random drive-by shooting in Bradenton.
The bullets barely missed a man sound asleep in his bed. That man doesn't want to identify himself, but he told ABC Action News that Thursday night he had the scare of his life.
"It was maybe 1:00 in the morning when I heard as many as 6 shots, all the shots went through the window," the victim said.
"We responded to a shooting last night where two residences right next to each other were hit," said Manatee County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Dave Bristow.
Officials with the Manatee County Sheriff's Office say they're left with little to go on-- all they know for sure is that someone fired four to six shots at homes on 7th street west in Bradenton-- but they don't know who, what kind of gun, or how the shooter got away.
And while one of those bullets hit this vacant home, two hit the victim's. window. And on the other side of that window-- his bed, where he was sound asleep when the bullet shattered through the glass.
"I'm very scared. I don't know what happened in that moment, and I don't have a problem with nobody so I don't know who came to shoot my house," the victim said.
Now, the sheriff's office is left searching for tips, and the victim says he'll be searching for a new home where he can feel safe.
I"m nervous, I'm very nervous, I'm scared."
