Manatee County deputies announce arrest in case of missing woman

ANNA MARIA ISLAND, Fla. - The former boyfriend of woman who went missing from Anna Maria Island in 2008, has been charged with her murder.

Sabine Musil-Buehler went missing on November 4, 2008 and has not been seen since. Authorities say she is presumed to be dead.

The former boyfriend, William Cumber, has been transferred to Manatee County.  He was serving 13 years in jail in Charlotte County for a violation of probation.

Because of that lengthy sentence, deputies were able to take their time in collecting and investigating the evidence that led them to Cumber.

Deputies would not say much about that evidence, other than that it included some blood samples.

Items belonging to Musil-Buehler were found in Anna Maria Island in July, 2011.  The items were found not far from Haley's Motel at 26th Avenue and 14th Street, which the woman co-owned when she disappeared.

Mysteriously, the motel burned down just weeks after she went missing.  Cumber had just been released from prison on an arson conviction.

Authorities are still looking for Musil-Buehler's body.

Anyone who may have information should call the Manatee County Sheriff's Office at (941) 747-3011 or Crime Stoppers at (866) 634-TIPS.
