Man, 2 children on tube being pulled by jet ski slam into dock on Winter Haven lake

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. - An adult and two children have been hospitalized after crashing into a dock while tubing behind a jet ski on a lake in Winter Haven on Saturday.

According to Polk County Sheriff's spokesperson Donna Wood, Juan Nunez, 28, of Winter Haven was operating a 2004 Polaris MSX 140 jet ski while towing an inner tube with the victims onboard.

Nunez made a right turn that sent the tube with David Landazuri, 31, Hunter Gonzalez, 10, both of Winter Haven, and Javier Nunez, 9, of Vero Beach, crashing into a dock.

Gonzalez was airlifted to Tampa General Hospital in "grave" condition. Landazuri was transported to Lakeland Regional Medical Center  in critical condition.

Javier Nunez was transported to Winter Haven Hospital, but is expected to be transferred to Tampa General Hospital in stable condition.

Wood said an investigation is ongoing into the incident, but it does not appear alcohol was a factor and the crash was an apparent accident.
