The Lakeland Police Department has identified a man killed during a traffic fatality this morning.

Armando Faz, 24, of 3719 Timberlake Road East in Lakeland, died after pulling into the path of a vehicle driven by Cynthia D. Patrick Kinsler, 43, of 1945 W. Highland Drive in Lakeland, according to a release from the Lakeland Police Department.

Here's what happened:

Around 8:07 a.m., a 1995 green Mercury was making a left turn from Swindell Road onto eastbound E. Memorial Blvd (SR 546). That's when a 2014 Yamaha motorcycle was heading westbound on Memorial in the outside lane. Kinsler, who was driving the Mercury, pulled into the path of Faz, who was on the motorcycle, the release says. The motorcycle hit the front left side of the Mercury near the front left tire and rotated counterclockwise before it came to rest.

Faz became separated from the motorcycle and came to rest about 113 feet away, the release says. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Polk County emergency management officials.

The crash is still under investigation. No charges have been filed at this time.

Kinsler was not injured in the accident.
