Polk deputies answer complaints and clean up Saddle Creek Park

LAKELAND, Fla. - Polk County undercover detectives initiated a sting Friday to help clean up Saddle Creek Park in Lakeland.

The department had received several complaints about indecent activity happening at the park.

During the sting, an undercover detective would solicit the men to commit lewd acts. Nine men in total were arrested including one registered sex offender from Hillsborough County.

Their ages ranged from 48 to 76 and professions included an employee at Autozone, a driver at Disney World, and a valet at Enterprise.

Peter Fortier, 55, attempted to flee from officers and was later arrested and charged with battery on a law enforcement officer as well as other charges.

Polk County Sheriff, Grady Judd said " Polk County's parks are beautiful places where we can relax, fish, play, and enjoy time together. They are not places for committing lewd acts or exposing yourself. If you choose to commit illegal acts in our parks, you will be arrested and booked into the Polk County Jail."
