LAKELAND, Fla. - The mother of a teen who was charged in the bullying of Rebecca Sedwick struck a plea deal in an abuse case Monday.
Vivian Vosburg, 30, was charged with two counts of child abuse and four counts of neglect stemming from a video posted on Facebook that showed Vosburg getting involved in a fight between two underage boys and punching them. Officials had blurred out the faces of the juveniles involved, but you can hear children screaming and getting slapped. Officials said Vosburg admitted to being the woman in the video, but said she was trying to break up the fight.
Vosburg received five years probation as part of the plea deal. She told ABC Action News that she's happy to be back home and putting this all behind her.
Vosburg's teen daughter was charged with stalking after the teen admitted on her Facebook page that she bullied Rebecca Sedwick and didn't care. Sedwick, 12, took her own life by jumping off a cement plant tower in September 2013.
Charges against the two teens arrested in the case, including Vosburg's daughter, were dropped.
