LAKELAND, Fla. -
A Polk County school bus driver, caught on cell phone video bringing a busload of middle and high-school aged students to her house to allegedly fight in the front yard, lives with a registered sex offender.
Patrice Sanders, 29, of 1133 Enterprise Street in Lakeland was arrested last week (see http://wfts.tv/14aSOls ).
ABC Action News has learned Walter Sanders, 38, also lives at that address, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement's sex offender database.
Public records show he was convicted in 1999 of committing a lewd and lascivious act on a child under the age of 16. Walter Sanders spent six years in prison for that crime.
He now lives in Lakeland as a registered sex offender at the same home where deputies say the female Sanders drove 34 children to last week.
"Anybody did that to my child, they'd be in bad shape. I don't go for that. That's terrible," said Bartow High School parent Patty Trevino.
''That's why I drive her to school," Trina Segna said of her 15-year-old daughter.
The relationship between the two Sanders is still unclear. No one appeared home when we visited the Lakeland residence on Friday.
Brian Haas with the State Attorney's Office said prosecutors are evaluating this new information. They're expected to decide within the next week if new charges will be added.
Right now, Patrice Sanders remains in jail with a $75,000 bond. She is being charged with false imprisonment, child abuse, child neglect, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
