Steven Rios, suspect in Lake Wales violent attack, arrested in Texas

LAKE WALES, Fla. - Police have arrested the suspect in Monday's Lake Wale Stabbing, police confirm.

With the assistance of the Tampa Bay Regional Operations Center Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the United States Marshals North Texas Fugitive Task Force, Steven Rios was found in Dallas, Texas, where he was arrested Sept. 23.

The arrest comes hours after the victim's body was found at an orange grove in Lake Wales. Officials say they learned of the body's location after the suspect told them where to find him.

The Lake Wales police department said the body was found near Lake Rhoden Road Tuesday afternoon.

On Monday, Lake Wales police went door to door, looking for a Frostproof man who witnesses say repeatedly stabbed another man, and then shoved him into his car and took off.

Detectives believe the victim in the orange grove is the stabbing victim, based on Rios' admission, and they are trying to make a positive identification on the body.

Anyone who has any more information  is asked to call Detective Bill Raebig at (863) 678-4223 extension 264 or Heartland Crime Stoppers at (800) 226-8477.
