Lakeland Police are questioning two people after shots were fired from a car, striking a 15-year-old boy at a Lakeland gas station.
Investigators said the shooting happened around 5:15 p.m. at the Chevron station located at 1615 W. Memorial Blvd.
Detectives at the scene said the teen was shot in the lower back as he stood outside of a parked car to pump gas.
The teen's mother was inside the gas station buying snacks when the shooting happened.
"When I went to grab my bag is when I heard the first pap. I looked at the store clerk... Then the other ones came kind of quickly after that. I ran out the door and seen my baby on the ground." Lakeisha Jones said.
The boy was flown to Tampa General Hospital.
Video taken by security cameras showed the bullets came from a small silver car driving West on Memorial.
One bullet hit a teen's tire, another hit the door of the store.
Police say they have stepped up patrols in the area.
